In 1997, Farooq joined Radio Pakistan (Quetta) as a newsreader. On September 26, 1997, Muhammad Farooq delivered first time this words “This is Radio Pakistan, now you listen news by Muhammad Farooq.”
In 2000, Muhammad Farooq has been awarded the Pride of Performance Award by Pakistani state radio in recognition of his work.[16][17][18] Farooq also worked many years for Pakistan Television as a newscaster.
